Social media helping people quit smoking

Hey, the folks at American Legacy Foundation are the real deal, set up by lots of states as part of a settlement deal with the tobacco companies.

They run the Truth campaign, trying to prevent addiction among the young.

Here's their new effort to help people out:

Social media can help create social change, but it can also help with PERSONAL
change -- like helping people quit smoking. There are now iPhone apps that can help,
Twitter feeds, even online communities, like this one at BecomeAnEX.org.

The EX plan offers lots of other tools, resources, information and exercises that
can help you prepare to quit smoking today. Probably the best part is that EX comes
with a built-in network of friends and support. You can access their social network
of other people trying to quit at BecomeAnEX.org

Craiglist Pulls 'Adult Services' Section From Site?

Less than a month after both Craigslist CEO Jim Buckmaster and the site's founder Craig Newmark defended the website against allegations that its Adult Services was a hub of illegal prostitution and sex trafficking, it looks like that section is no more.

Late Friday, Craigslist visitors in the U.S. saw the Adult Services link replaced by the words "censored" in a black box.

As of late Saturday night, the company had not posted anything about this change onits official blog. No word from Mr. Newmark either.

Craigslist has become a target of at least 18 states' attorney generals over the Adult Services section.

It's not known if the removal of the controversial section is permanent or merely to make a point. If it is permanent, that would be a huge financial blow to the company, which relies on Adult Services listings for a good chunk of its revenue.

I've read a lot of stores lately about "credit score enthusiasts" who want to get the perfect credit score or are obsessed with improving their score. While it's certainly better than not caring about your credit score at all, it almost never pays to get a perfect score.
